About this category
The Editor of the Year Award recognises an editor whose judgement and leadership shaped a newspaper, magazine, website, programme or newsroom this year.
The judges look for strong editorial standards, a team that grew under their lead and work that reached and served its audience.
Eligibility
Open to editors, deputy editors and managing editors in print, online, radio and television, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.

- Entries are judged on editorial standards and judgement
- Audience results
- Leadership of the team and the impact of the work published
